Udo Ekpenyong, Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State, is dead.
A reliable source told Newsden on Tuesday morning that Ekpenyong died on Monday in Uyo of COVID-19.
Ekpenyong, a strong supporter of Governor Udom Emmanuel, was the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Akwa Ibom State before his emergence as PDP Chairman.

It would be recalled that a former military governor of the state, Idongesit Nkanga, also died of COVID-19.
