Following the spike in the number of deaths and confirmed cases of Covid 19, since the move for gradually reopening of cities across California was initiated by Governor Newsome Gavin, the state has announced that all public beaches in Los Angeles County will be closed ahead of the July 4th holiday.

July 4th which mark’s the Independence of the United States of America has been a national holiday since the year 1941 and it is widely celebrated across all states in America.

However, this year’s celebration may be different as sources said it should be marked with caution in the state due to the fact that coronavirus witnessed a surge since Memorial day celebration and reopening of the State.

This move according to the Public Health Director of the County, Barbara Ferrer was to discouraged mass gathering of people recognised as one of the easiest ways to spread the virus.

Though, it was not clear as at the time of filing in this report, how the people would take the closure of beaches during the much anticipated holiday, newsden.com.ng gathered it will be a major test in determining how people will work to slow down the spread of the virus which has seen California surpass 6,000 Covid 19 related deaths.
