The Maris Trust Council has issued a warm felicitations message to renowned academic and community leader, Prof. Kemi Emina, the OdiEga of Ebu Kingdom, as he celebrates his birthday.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of MTC, Chief Sir Kenneth Olise, Ph.D, and Comrade Fidelis Egugbo respectively, the Council lauded Prof. Emina for his unwavering commitment to public service and his long-standing partnership with the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series.
The Council in the statement released on Saturday morning also, announced Prof. Emina as the Moderator for this year’s lecture.
”Your life is a typical example of selflessness and working for the good of humanity.
“As you mark the anniversary of your natal day, may God continue to keep you in good health and a sound state of mind, granting you many more years of happiness.
“We are happy that you have accepted to once again, serve the masses as the Moderator for this year’s lecture billed to be delivered by Nigerian-born patriot, Gen. Lucky Irabor, former Chief of Defence Staff.
The topic for discussion at this year’s lecture is, Insecurity: Bane Of Nigeria’s Unity And Progress.
“It is worthy to state that former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dele Ezeoba will be Chairman of Occasion while Sir Mike Ejiofor, a former Director of DSS will be one of the Discussants.
“Prof. Emina, we are confident that by the grace of God you will be physically present at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, venue of the lecture on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 12 Noon.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who believes in an egalitarian society, has magnanimously approved the use of the Unity Hall for the agenda-setting cum thought-provoking lecture being described in some circles as security summit before the general elections.
“The OdiEga of Ebu Kingdom, once again, happy birthday anniversary celebration,” the statement read.
ABOUT PROF KEMI EMINA:
Kemi Anthony Emina is a senior academic at Delta State University, Abraka. His scholarly interests are principally in Development Philosophy, with a strong and enduring engagement in African Metaphysics.
An experienced organiser, public commentator, broadcaster, and journalist, Kemi Emina was among the pioneer staff of the Delta Printing and Publishing Company Ltd, publishers of The Pointer Newspapers.
He also gained valuable broadcasting experience with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Over the years, he served at various times as a senior aide to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, where he coordinated the Speech, Research and Documentation Department. His commitment to service and institutional development has been evident in several capacities.
He previously served as Worldwide President of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association, using that platform to contribute meaningfully to the growth and advancement of the University.
He was also a visible and active member of the University of Ibadan Governing Council and later served as Co-Chairman of the University of Ibadan at 70 Celebrations. He currently sits on the Board of UI Ventures Ltd, where he serves as Chairman.
A committed Christian of the Catholic faith, OdiEga Kemi Emina has received several recognitions, including a chieftaincy title from his Ebu community.
Widely travelled and family-oriented, he is happily married to Mrs. Rita Emina, a consummate architect, and they are blessed with children.
Prof.Kemi Emina is also deeply guided by humanist values in both his professional and personal engagements.
He has consistently attended Maris Annual Public Service Lecture since 2019 as a Moderator and by the grace of God Almighty, he will be there again this year.
