24 hours to the 2021 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture, the Maris Trust Council (MTC), organisers of Maris lecture series, on Tuesday, congratulated the Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Chief Monday Onyeme, on his 56th birthday.

Onyeme is billed to speak on the topic, “Effective Tax Administration For The Delivery Of Democratic Dividends” at the lecture, which will hold on Wednesday, March 31 at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.

It will have Mr Peter Mrakpor (SAN), Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr Emeka Anthony Odo, Executive Chairman, Enugu State Internal Revenue Service; Hon. (Barr.)Orezi Esievo, Executive Secretary, Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Development Agency (DEMSA); Dr. Shefiu Abiodun Muritala, Accountant-General, Lagos State; and Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri, Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Delta State House of Assembly as discussants and Dr Kemi Emina as Moderator.

The workaholic Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, who recognizes the importance of tax in governance, will be the Chief Guest of Honour while Chief Kennedy Kanma, Managing Director, Kanma Properties Development Company Limited will be the Chairman of the occasion.

Dr (Mrs) Comfort Omon-Irabor, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Hellyncom Eye Clinic, Warri will be the Mother of the Day and the Spiritual Father of the Day is Very Rev. Fr. John Konyeke.

MTC in a statement issued on Tuesday morning by its Secretary, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, noted that Onyeme has distinguished himself as a successful businessman, philanthropist, grassroot politician as well as a tax expert.

Egugbo said, “Chief Onyeme, at 56 you have recorded outstanding successes in diverse areas, and Deltans are proud of your achievements.

“It is a thing of joy that it was divinely arranged that your birthday is coming on the eve of the 2021 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series where you will play a key role.

“No doubt, your track record has distinguished you as a man to be celebrated, and we join members of your family, your associates and teeming supporters to say, happy birthday to you.

“”As you celebrate 56 years on planet earth, it is our prayer that God will continually bless you with robust health and more years of service to Him and to humanity.
