The Maris Trust Council (MTC), a prominent non-governmental organization focused on public service discourse, issued a heartfelt and glowing tribute to Hon. Tony Elekeokwuri, the influential Director-General of the Delta State Investment Development Agency (DIDA), as he marked his birthday.

In a formal statement signed by the Secretary of the MTC, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, the Council publicly celebrated Elekeokwuri’s professional pedigree and dedication to good governance.

The statement lauded the DIDA Director-General as a “distinguished leader and highly respected public servant,” a title the Council reserves for individuals who have significantly contributed to policy development and administrative excellence.

”It would be recalled that Hon. Elekeokwuri, a renowned technocrat and public administrator who currently spearheads DIDA’s critical mission to attract and facilitate both domestic and foreign investment into Delta State, participated actively in the Year 2021 edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture as a discussant when Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, was the Keynote Speaker.

”Sir Onyeme, who was then the Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), spoke on the topic, ‘Effective Tax Administration For The Delivery Of Democratic Dividends.’

“Hon. Tony Elekeokwuri, who was then, the Chairman of the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Finance, discussed the topic with three other personalities.

”The Maris Annual Public Service Lecture is held every Wednesday before Easter Sunday, and the next edition by the grace of God, shall hold on Wednesday, April 1, 2026,” Egugbo said.

The MTC scribe, who is also the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor of Delta State, added that “Hon. Elekeokwuri’s leadership is credited with streamlining bureaucratic processes and advancing initiatives vital to the state’s long-term economic growth agenda.

”Your participation in our flagship programme, the Maris Annual Public Service Lecture, has significantly placed you among critical thought-leaders who shape high-level discussions on governance, transparency, and public accountability.

”This consistent involvement is a testament to your intellectual rigor and commitment to public discourse.

”The Maris Trust Council wishes you many more returns as you celebrate your birthday, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri.”
