THE Ndokwa Youth Leaders Assembly has urged the Federal Government to ensure full representation of Ndokwa ethnic nationality in the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

They made the call on Wednesday after an enlarged meeting of the members in Warri, Delta State.

The Ndokwa Youth Leaders Assembly said that the Federal Government of Nigeria over the years has undermined the relevance of the Ndokwa Nation in the area of Internal Revenue Generation.

The group noted that the attitude of the federal government is evident in the political isolation of Ndokwa in the area of appointments and infrastructural development.

Those who spoke at the meeting include the President-General of the youth assembly, Comrd. Trevor Chuks Ilide, Comrd. Enebeli Ernest Brown, Hon. Chidi Oji and Hon Ejechi Emmanuel stated that it is important for the federal government to include  Ndokwa indigenes in the NDDC Board.

They called on the youths and stakeholders in the region to rise and pursue the Interest of the Ndokwa Nation and called for an end to the “bring-him-down” syndrome mentality common amongst the people.

The youth leaders equally called on Ndokwa citizens to throw their weights behind the struggle towards ensuring that Ndokwa Nation is captured in the leadership of the NDDC.

Ndokwa Youth Leaders Assembly noted that Ndokwa Ethnic nationality being the largest Gas deposit in West Africa has suffered enough marginalization in the hands of the Federal Government and that Ndokwa Nation will no longer tolerate the insults.

The assembly commended a stakeholder, Comrd. Michael Anoka  for the role he is playing on issues relating to the welfare of Ndokwa people and for his sustained supports to the Assembly.

Addressing the Assembly, Comrd. Michael Anoka  assured them of his continuous support and solidarity.

He stated that all sons and daughters of Ndokwa must come together to negotiate a better deal for Ndokwa Nation, insisting that Ndokwa must be carried along in the new NDDC Board.

The Assembly called on the Federal Government to do the needful by ensuring the inclusion of Ndokwa indigene in the NDDC Board to avoid unhealthy development.

They also reiterated their support on the call of Chief Government Tompolo for the Inauguration of the NDDC Board by the 30th of June, 2021.
