Anyia also added that the visit of the Commissioner to the family of the deceased teacher nipped in the bud the crises that would have erupted

He further stated that the union’s leadership together with the family of the late teacher had come up with the burial arrangement, stressing that the visit was to inform the Commissioner about the burial programme.

According to the Publicity Secretary, the family and the union had chosen December 5th and 6th, 2023 for the burial ceremony of Mr Ufuah.

Ezewu in her response, commended teachers in Ika South and Ika North East for the matured way they handled the situation.

The Commissioner who spoke through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Augustine Oghoro, said that the relative peace that was achieved by the Ministry of Secondary Education during the death of the late teacher was hinged on the modest conduct of teachers across Ika nation whom he noted, exhibited a commendable level of cooperation with the commissioner.

The Commissioner assured the union of the utmost cooperation of the Ministry to ensure that justice is done.
