Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the constitution of Governing Councils for three state-owned tertiary institutions: University of Delta, Agbor; Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba; and Southern Delta University, Ozoro.
The appointments were officially announced in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu.
The composition of the newly constituted governing councils includes:

- Pro-Chancellor/Chairman: Prof. Victor Peretomode
- Members: Rear Admiral Peter I. Eluma, Prof. Ebele Egwunyega, Dr. Roland Oritsejafor, Mrs. Joy Enwa, Prof. Ben Oghojafor, and Prof. Patrick Oromareghake.
Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai-Asaba
- Pro-Chancellor/Chairman: Prof. Patrick Muoboghare
