The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA; Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON (rtd); Hon. Charles Emetulu; Hon. Emma Okoro, Hon. Kris Njokwuemeni; and Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese, were among those who were at Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, to bid Hon. Aneke Ifemeni a final farewell.

​The burial ceremony, which took place at Hon. Ifemeni’s residence, attracted several present and former lawmakers, including prominent politicians and businessmen within and outside the state.

​The Deputy Governor, in an emotion-laden message to the family, said, “we recognize and eternally appreciate his indelible contributions, particularly his historic role as the first Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly.

​Hon. Aneke Ifemeni, until his death, was the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Agricultural Matters.

​He was reputed for the promotion of the cultivation of coconuts.

​Popularly known as Ezeadiebuo, Hon. Ifemeni was the first Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Ifemod Nigeria Limited, a company that was into several businesses, including management of artists, and owner of the famous Ifemod House, then on Allen Avenue, Lagos.

​He died at the age of 65 years.
