The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA; Rear Admiral Mike Onah, OON (rtd); Hon. Charles Emetulu; Hon. Emma Okoro, Hon. Kris Njokwuemeni; and Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese, were among those who were at Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, to bid Hon. Aneke Ifemeni a final farewell.
The burial ceremony, which took place at Hon. Ifemeni’s residence, attracted several present and former lawmakers, including prominent politicians and businessmen within and outside the state.
The Deputy Governor, in an emotion-laden message to the family, said, “we recognize and eternally appreciate his indelible contributions, particularly his historic role as the first Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly.
”Chief Ifemeni’s wisdom and dedication to the upliftment of our community and our state will be greatly missed.
”We pray that the Almighty God grants you, the immediate family, the courage and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Hon. Aneke Ifemeni, until his death, was the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Agricultural Matters.
He was reputed for the promotion of the cultivation of coconuts.
Popularly known as Ezeadiebuo, Hon. Ifemeni was the first Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Ifemod Nigeria Limited, a company that was into several businesses, including management of artists, and owner of the famous Ifemod House, then on Allen Avenue, Lagos.
He died at the age of 65 years.
