The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has urged Deltans to be united for more development to be achieved in the state.
Onyeme made the call on Wednesday when the people of Akoku clan, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Asaba.
According to the deputy governor, the M.O.R.E. Agenda of the Governor Oborevwori-led administration would be more effective when the people are united and cooperate among themselves.
Onyeme who appreciated the people for the pledge of allegiance and loyalty, said,” I am happy to receive you in my office today, it is very pleasing to hear you pledge your loyalty and support for our administration.
“The M.O.R.E. Agenda of this administration is committed to the development of the state, but we must stay united because, the more united that we are, the more we are able to get things done for ourselves and the state.”
The deputy governor, while assuring that people that he will make their requests in the areas of road construction, provision of electricity and other social amenities to the governor, acknowledged the roles played by the people of Akoku during the election in ensuring victory for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Earlier, in an address Chief Terry Otuya, described Onyeme as a man of great integrity, saying that he was optimistic that Delta State under the Sheriff Oborevwori led administration would experience economic emancipation.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe and the Ndokwa West Local Government Chairman, Hon. Obi Nzete.
