FINAL rites of passage for Ezinne Gold Obinnaya Egege, mother-in-law of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, commenced on Thursday evening at her husband’s residence at Amuke Autonomous Community, Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Delivering a sermon at the service, Rt. Rev’d Festus Uzorka Nwafili, Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Anglican Communion, admonished the living to prepare for their last day.
“Every mortal, one day, shall be no more, death is an appointment that we must all keep.
“Our mother passed on at the age of 68; the Holy Bible tells us that it is appointed for man to die and after that, judgement, so, it is an appointment that we must all keep.
“Death may be for joy or regret depending on the way we live our lives here on earth, so, how are you preparing for this appointment?
“Mama has ran her race and there is nothing anyone can do.
“This service is for the living, it is a sober moment, take time to assess yourself, how are you living?
“God was so kind that He sent His only begotten son to take the pains away from you.
“Do you know Jesus? Who is He to you? What will it profit you to gain the whole world and damage your soul?
“Make the right choice, love God and love your neighbour so that a gate into eternity will be opened to you,” the Bishop said.
