CHRISTIANS have been advised not to despair when they make requests from God as their prayers will be answered if they believe in God.
The Chaplain, Government House Chaplaincy, Ven. Charles Osemenam, gave the advice on Wednesday morning while delivering a sermon during morning service at the Chaplaincy.
According to him, when Christians consecrate themselves to God, they will get whatever they ask from God.
He said, “When we consecrate our all to Christ, like in the days of pentecost, we will have divine increase.
“We should avoid saying that we have arrived; there is no single individual that will say he knows everything about God because, the more we know about God, the more we realise that there is still a lot that we do not know.
“On the day of pentecost, the people had divine increase; they had the power to live holy life and they lived a disciplined life; we need to live a disciplined life.
“The power of self sacrificing, not regarding our lives as anything and be bold to talk about Jesus Christ.
“When we consecrate ourselves to God, when we expose and surrender ourselves to God, we become meek and gentle; we will express our love for God, and have the inspiration to do things that will win souls for God.
“Power from high is needed by all; when you receive this power, you will be amazed at your boldness because it will not be you that will be speaking but God.
“We should desire this power so that we will live for God; He is there for us and He will stand by us and we need this power that wherever we are found people will bear witness that Jesus is with us.
“We should persist in prayers; when we need something, we should go to God and we will receive it.”
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith were among those who attended the church service.
