Police Nabs 15 Crime Suspects, Recover Arms

THE Anambra State Police Command arrested fifteen suspects, and recovered four pump action rifles, one English made Pistol, one locally made gun and eleven cartridges following its resolve to reduce crime and criminality to barest minimum in the State.

Recall that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Kuryas had during his maiden press conference promised to tackle the menace of armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, illegal revenue collections and other security challenges in the State.

According to a release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed, for the Commissioner of Police, the Police operatives attached to 3-3 Division, in collaboration with the local vigilante group, arrested one Debele Chukwu Mbanugo, male aged twenty, of Nkwelle Ezunaka Community and recovered one pump action rifle, which he admitted to have stolen from 3-3 Police Station during the #Endsars Protests.

Also, police operatives attached to Oko Division arrested a twenty-five year old Blessing Uche Marcel Ukogu, male of Akabor Village, Osunmeyi, Nnewi South Council Area, who resides at Abo-Dutse, Abuja for stealing a Toyota Corolla model 2005 from Abuja.

The release stated that the suspect and exhibit have been handed over to Federal Capital Territory Command for further investigation.

In another breakthrough, the release stated that Police operatives attached to Okija Division, also within the week, arrested inside a residential apartment at Oghalebu Okija, one Chinaza Okoma, male aged twenty-five, and Onyebuchi Maduka, male aged twenty-four both of 3-3 area Onitsha, and recovered two pump action rifles, and eleven cartridges, which they could not give satisfactory account of.

Also, on last week Monday, the release noted that Puff Adder operatives, in conjunction with a Police patrol team attached to Ogbaru Division, arrested one Ebuka Obaze, male aged twenty-two of Ochuche Umuodo in Ogbaru Council Area for being in possession of a cut to size locally made double barrel gun.

The release however stated that all cases are under investigation after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
