As the Lenten season progresses toward the triumph of the Resurrection, Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia has called on the faithful to undergo a profound internal “re-examination” to ensure they are not walking in spiritual blindness.

Delivering a Homily on Rejoicing Sunday at the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Fr. Mozia reminded congregants that the joy of Easter is intrinsically linked to the preparation of the soul.

Fr. Mozia noted that the faithful should rejoice because Easter is at hand.

He emphasized that just as Christ suffered and rose again, believers must prepare adequately for Him to “rise again” in their individual lives.

Fr. Mozia asserted that how a person perceives the world is a direct reflection of their spiritual health saying, “if you are not spiritually blind, you will see things the way God sees them and act according to His will.”

The Catholic Priest described Lent as a season for deep self assessment and urged Christians to evaluate whether their lives are truly Godly and cautioned against returning to sin after the “washing at baptism.”

He highlighted that divine intimacy requires human effort.

“The more you open yourself to God, the more He reveals Himself to you,” he emphasized, adding that God listens to those who take Him seriously by dedicating their time and talents to His service.

Fr. Mozia challenged Christians to look inward, check their actions, and “pray always.”

He stressed that relying on God and maintaining closeness to Him is the only path to spiritual clarity and a meaningful Easter celebration.

He stated, ”if you take God seriously, God will listen to you; it is on giving God your time and talent that He reveals His presence in your life.”

The Holy Mass featured thanksgiving by Parishioners.
