A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Christopher Oyemike, Ph.D., has lauded the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, describing his administration’s ongoing road construction projects across the state as exceptional.
In a statement he personally made available to newsmen, Chief Oyemike noted that Governor Oborevwori has endeared himself to the hearts of Deltans through visible, impactful infrastructural developments across various communities.
Chief Oyemike expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for approving the construction of C.C. Oyemike Street in Asaba, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of responsive leadership and a genuine commitment to public welfare.
He noted that the project has brought immense joy to residents and highlights the administration’s drive to improve living standards statewide.
While expressing his appreciation, the APC chieftain respectfully appealed to Governor Oborevwori to extend similar developmental attention to Ogbefu Street and Ejakita Street in Abbi.
He emphasized that constructing these two vital roads would significantly enhance accessibility and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
Chief Oyemike highlighted the need for an effective drainage system to channel floodwaters from both streets into the Edu Stream, Abbi.
”The provision of a proper drainage network to channel water into Edu Stream will address persistent drainage challenges, mitigate seasonal flooding, protect local property, and relieve the hardship faced by the people of Abbi during the rainy season,” Oyemike stated.
He added that fulfilling these requests would mark a major milestone toward sustainable grassroots development and reinforce the state government’s dedication to community-focused infrastructure.
Chief Oyemike reaffirmed his personal support for Governor Oborevwori and assured the administration of the continued goodwill and cooperation of the people of Abbi, expressing confidence in the Governor’s vision to deliver meaningful development to every part of Delta State.
