The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on Christians to continually pray for those in authority, emphasizing that prayers can turn situations around for good.

Governor Oborevwori made the call during the Our Daily Manna morning service organized by Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry Worldwide, led by Bishop Chris Kwakovwe at Asaba on Saturday.

The Governor who was represented at the event by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D, said that sustained prayers will attract more impactful projects that will positively touch the lives of Deltans and residents of the state.

“It is going to get better and better, in line with the MORE Agenda of this administration.

“Over the past few years, we have witnessed significant developments in our state, we have seen projects worth billions of naira being executed in our communities and we know this is just the beginning for more; we are only scratching the surface, by the time this government returns in 2027, even greater things will come.”

The Governor stressed the importance of praying for leaders, noting that when citizens unite in prayer for those in authority, they are more likely to govern according to God’s will.

“There is no way authority will not act according to the will of God when we are all in unison, asking God to sustain and guide them to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians and to our state,” he said.

In his sermon, Bishop Chris Kwakovwe prophesied healing for those held captive and highlighted the developmental strides witnessed in the state.

He urged the congregation to always remember their leaders in prayer and prayed for wisdom for the state’s leadership to continue steering Delta State toward greater progress.

Some of those who attended the programme included wife of the Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Mrs Edith Okowa, among others.
