‎President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Ms. Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a news anchor with Arise Television News, who was killed during a robbery at her residence in Abuja.
‎
‎This is contained in a statement by Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.
‎
‎Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the Maduagwu’s family, Arise News management, and the entire Nigerian media community.
‎
‎”Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner.
‎
‎”Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”
‎
‎Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remained committed to protecting lives and property, and would intensify efforts to combat all forms of crime across the country.
‎
Maduagwu, 29, was killed early Monday during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Nigeria Police.
