Youths Should Be Strengthened For Devt Of Communities Says Onyeme

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has called for the strengthening of youth organizations for speedy development of communities.

Sir Onyeme made the call on Tuesday at the Iwaji (New Yam Festival) of Ewulu Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the Deputy Governor, the youths play pivotal roles in the development of communities and should be encouraged to be progressive in their activities.

“The youths drive the progress of communities, so, the youths must be supported to be progressive in their reasoning for the development of our communities,” the Deputy Governor said.

He thanked the Obi of Ewulu Kingdom for uniting his people and making the Kingdom peaceful, noting that no development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour.

He observed that “Ewulu is an ancient Kingdom, but it is sad that the Kingdom that started years ago is not as developed as Kingdoms that started yesterday.

‘I will do everything within my powers to make this community to be more progressive, build this community and make it the envy of others.”

He thanked the people of Ewulu for their support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration and urged them not to waver in their support for government and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The traditional ruler of Ewulu, HRM Obi Godwin Onyenwuwa 1 who spoke through Chief Chief. Joe Asem, thanked Sir Onyeme for his support for the Kingdom.

He stated that the Kingdom is also, fully in support of the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

“We are fully behind the Deputy Governor and the government of Delta State,” he asserted.

The event featured display of the rich cultural heritage of Africa.
