As the 2024 Zenith Bank/Delta Headmasters’ Cup enters more decisive stage , it was not a good result for Morka Primary School, Obiaruku representing Ukwuani after relinquishing their dominance since the beginning of the competition by losing 3-0 to Warri South in one of the quarter final matches played at the Government College, Ughelli.

To reach the quarter final stage, Ukwuani had beaten their opponent, Okporo Primary School, Enwhe , Isoko South 4-2 on penalties while Warri South defeated Uvwie 3-2 to advance to the quarter final and Warri South by their victory against Ukwuani has now booked a semi-final place in the competition.

In one of the quarter -final matches played at the St. Patrick’s College, Asaba Ani -Nshi Primary School, Ogwuashi-Uku, Aniocha South beat their opponent, Owa Model Primary School, Ika North -East by 2-0 in a match where the losers violently attacked the match officials and the eventual winners of the match apparently because the results of the match was different from what they had expected.

At the Urhobo College, Effurun playground, the match between Ometan Primary School, Ughoton representing Okpe and Warri South West ended 2-0 in favour of Okpe and by this victory, Okpe has qualified for the semi final.

Again, to reach the quarter-final stage, Ometan Primary School Ughoton, Okpe walloped Ekrokpe Primary School, Ughelli South in their zonal match by 7-0.

Similarly, Johanna Primary School, Udu have equally booked a place for the semi -final of the competition after defeating Ekaede Primary School, 2-0.

Recall that Johanna Primary School in their encounter had a walkover against their opponent, Destiny Academy, Ughelli who only appeared for their zonal match with Udu closely to 2 hours behind schedule, so Johanna Primary School was awarded 2-0 even without kicking the ball.

Meanwhile, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released the fixtures for the semi -final matches scheduled to be held on Tuesday, October 22.

In the fixtures, Aniocha South would square up with Udu while Okpe would confront Warri South and the two semi -final matches would be played simultaneously.
