He disclosed that his late father was able to survive years of ill health because his children were able to cater for him.

“We are here at Umukwata to danate drugs to this special hospital that is providing free medical care to the people.

“Before my father passed on, he was ill for some time and was moved to several medical facilities; we were footing the bills, he was happy and we were happy, but, that experience made it obvious that several persons are dying due to lack of funds for their medical attention.

“We have been supplying drugs to this hospital in the past and this donation is in line with our belief that it will assist a lot of persons to recover from their illnesses.

“Though, our donation is not restricted to this hospital, we are passionate about Achiame Free Medical Hospital because of the free medical services they render to people no matter their ailment.

“A philanthropist, the Ukwata I of Umukwata, HRM Friday Abaja built the hospital and he is paying the workers their salaries from his pocket and as an organisation that is out to assist the needy, we had to assist by giving drugs to the hospital,” Chief Oyemike said.

Receiving the drugs, Chief Uchejim Joseph, who is one of the community leaders at Umukwata thanked POF for the donation, assuring that it would go a long way to boost what their King, His Majesty, Friday Abajah was doing to ensure that the people get quality health service at no cost.

Some of those who witnessed the event were Hon. Macdonald Ogbolu, Mrs Caroline Anoka, among others.

Peter Oyemike Foundation (POF) was floated in memory of late Chief Peter Chukwujindu Oyemike, JP, former Vice Chairman, Ndokwa West Local Government Council who died on April 19, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
