The South South chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Saturday, endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including Delta State Governor, Rt. Sheriff Oborevwori, for second terms in office, signaling early alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a communiqué presented at the end of the meeting, the APC National Vice Chairman (South South), Hon. Victor Gaidom, announced the unanimous decision of the stakeholders to adopt President Bola Tinubu, Governors Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Umo Eno, (Akwa-Ibom), Bassey Otu (Cross River) and Monday Okpboholo (Edo) as the party’s consensus candidates for the 2027 elections.

Governor Oborevwori, who is currently on official assignment with President Tinubu in Brazil, was represented at the meeting by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme.

Oborevwori’s endorsement by the APC South South stakeholders is considered a significant boost to his political standing and sets the tone for intensified preparations toward securing a second term in Dennis Osadebey House.

The stakeholders also praised President Bola Tinubu efforts in economic reform, infrastructure development, and national security, pledging their unwavering support for his reelection bid.

The motion for the adoption which was moved by Prof Julius Ihonvbere and seconded by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, was unanimously adopted by all stakeholders.

With the endorsement of both the president and the four governors in the region, the APC is consolidating its base and building early momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle.
