Presidential candidates for the 2027 general elections will pay N50 million each to display billboards and other campaign materials in Anambra State, the Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) has said.

The agency announced the rates on Friday in Awka while unveiling guidelines for outdoor political advertising and visual campaigns.

Assistant General Manager of ANSAA, Engr. Chika Ngobili, said the permit is meant to ensure orderliness, prevent visual pollution, protect public infrastructure, maintain professional standards, and guarantee fairness in access to advertising space.

Ngobili stated that the permits cover posters, public address systems, branded vehicles, banners, fliers, buntings, T-shirts, caps, street storms, campaign booths, rallies, and other promotional materials at approved locations within the relevant electoral areas.

He added that all outdoor campaign materials must be vetted and approved by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) before deployment.

“All political parties and candidates participating in the 2027 general elections in Anambra State must obtain campaign permits from ANSAA before commencing activities involving out-of-home visual promotions, rallies, branded materials, public address systems, and other outdoor promotional activities,” Ngobili said.

ANSAA warned against the destruction or defacing of opponents’ campaign materials, describing such acts as “unacceptable, unlawful, and contrary to the principles of peaceful democratic engagement.”

The agency also noted that billboards and advertisement structures can only be erected by advertising practitioners duly registered with ARCON and authorized by ANSAA.

“All political parties and candidates are strongly advised to work only with ARCON-registered practitioners and obtain the necessary approvals from ANSAA to avoid sanctions, removal of unauthorized materials, or other regulatory actions,” the agency said.

According to ANSAA, enforcement teams will monitor compliance throughout the campaign period, and violators will be sanctioned in line with Anambra State laws.
