Prominent commercial transporter and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) in Agbor, Comrade Dennis Araro, has commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for approving the construction of a flyover and storm water drainage projects in the city.

The flyover project is to be located at Uromi Junction of Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
The approval was made at a recent session of the State Executive Council (EXCO) presided over by Governor Oborevwori in Asaba.

The EXCO also okayed the construction of a major flood channel in the Orikeze Avenue area of the metropolis to drain flood from the vicinity into the Orogodo River.

Reacting to the development, Araro, in a brief chat by phone, said that the action of the governor had set him apart for good cause regarding the drive for the sustainable development of Agbor and other parts of the state.

According to him, the projects , on delivery, would significantly ease inter and intra- city transportation, check flooding and erosion and the many negative effects and save lives by helping to reduce the frequency and intensity of road mishaps in the area.

Both projects, he added, would enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city and its economic and social value, aside from etching a sense of belonging in the local population.

Araro noted that the important locations of both projects as gateways to other parts of Nigeria made the approval of the governor more strategic and more commendable.

The commercial transporter and chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW) pleaded with the governor to accelerate action on the projects, and commended him for the choice of construction giant, Julius Berger, to handle the N59billion flyover project.

He called on all stakeholders, especially residents of the area, as well as authorities of the traditional institution and local government in the area to actively support the state government and the contractors to ensure their prompt and seamless delivery.

Araro said that the state government had, by the projects, demonstrated sensitivity to the genuine needs of commuters and residents of the area and sought the massive support of residents and indigenes of Agbor and proximate communities for the Oborevwori administration.
