THE Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has thanked God for His goodness as he clocks 62 years on earth.
Okowa, who was fully engaged in official duties, took out time to post on his Facebook wall on Thursday, thanking God for preserving his life, for giving him a wonderful family and for the lives of Deltans.
Also, Deltans of all walks of life, sent goodwill messages to the governor thanking God for His goodness.
Okowa wrote, “I am filled with immense gratitude to Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, for allowing me to witness another year in great health!
“I am grateful to my darling wife, Edith, my children, and all our extended family — for all their love and prayers!
“Immensely thankful to the great people of Delta State; our leaders and stakeholders in our party, PDP; and the members of our administration— for their support and collaboration!
“As we continue to serve our people, today is a celebration of the continuation of this journey — as we move forward together!”
Immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, in a message titled, “Okowa @ 62,” said, “Happy birthday to my brother, the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
“I pray that God Almighty will give you strength and wisdom to navigate our state to an enviable height.
“On behalf of my family, I join your family, our dear state and well wishers across the world in saying Congratulations my Governor!”
Former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Benjamin Elue in a message sent to Newsden, described Governor Okowa as “the pride of Anioma, pride of Delta.
“We are proud of what you are doing in our state and God will continue to bless you, give you reasons to always celebrate.”
A political leader, Chief Godwill Obielum, said, “Your Excellency, at 62, you have every reason to thank God.
“We join you to thank Him for His goodness to you, your family and our dear state.
“We are praying that God will continue to direct your steps.
“Happy birthday Your Excellency!”
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr. (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi, in a message noted that Governor Okowa’s birth anniversary deserved to be celebrated by all Deltans and lovers of democracy.
According to Dr. Ejakpovi, “our Governor has done very well for us as a people; God has used him to do a lot for humanity and as he marks his 62nd birthday, we have every reason to thank God.
“We congratulate our Governor and pray that God will continue to protect him, give him the wisdom to continue to manage the affairs of Delta.
“As we celebrate with him, we should also continue to support his administration, we should continue to create the enabling environment for his administration to execute more projects that will be beneficial to all.
“Today is to wish our Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa happy birthday and many happy returns; may God continue to keep him for us. Amen.”
The Commissioner for Youths Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga simply wrote, “God always strives together with those who strive’ – Aeschylus

Two Catholic Priests, Rev. Fr. Malachi Okonkwo and Rev. Fr. Festus Owakwe, also sent goodwill messages.
“God bless our governor with many more peaceful and fruitful years in good health. Amen,” says Fr. Okonkwo while Fr. Owakwe said, “Happy birthday to our Governor, Okowa.
“May the Lord strengthen him and bless him with good health and long life, through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Some persons also, commented on a goodwill message written by the Special Assistant, Media to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo.
Some of those who reacted include a Lagos-based social commentator, Dominic Femi Simire who wrote, “Sir, this is your testimony as you continue to strive to impact the lives of Deltans.
“Happy Birthday Your Excellency.
“Happy birthday to an action governor, your works speak for itself.
“God bless you. Amen.”
A Warri-based broadcaster, Comrade Jennifer Orugbo simply wrote, “Congratulations and happy birthday Sir” and Mr Agudile Ikechukwu wrote, “Congratulations and Happy birthday Your Excellency Sir.”
Egugbo wrote, “Happy birthday Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State.
“Your Excellency, today I join members of your family as well as millions of your supporters and well-wishers in Delta, Nigeria and worldwide to wish you a wonderful birthday celebration.
“Sir, it is axiomatic to say that you are an enigma, a tactician and a great manager of human and material resources.
“May God continue to strengthen you, through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
