CAMPAIGN: How We Mobilized Supporters Within 24 Hours – Ejakpovi

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain, Dr. (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi, has disclosed the secret behind the success of the PDP rally in Isoko North despite less than 24 hours’ notice.

In an exclusive interview with Newsden, Ejakpovi stated that mobilizing the people could be done in less than 24 hours because there is no opposition political party in the area.

He said, “this is what you will see in the elections; our people are enlightened and are in love with the PDP.

“When we were told that the PDP rally in Isoko North would hold on Wednesday, we were not surprised that the hierarchy of our party is confident that we could mobilize our people in less than 24 hours.

“All that we did was to send out the message and within hours, everybody came out with what they had to offer in preparing the venue and of course, the next day, our people in different communities came out to show solidarity with the only political party they know since 1998 and that was evident in the excitement, the fun we had on Wednesday.

“Isoko is PDP and PDP is Isoko, so, if Ozoro could be locked down with the type of notice we got, imagine what will happen on election day that we are looking forward to.

“Our people are happy that our Governor, a titled man in Isoko land is moving up the political ladder to become our Vice-President and we know that we stand a lot to benefit.

“Also, the Governorship candidate of our party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is married to an Isoko woman, he is our son-in-law, so, as Africans, we will naturally protect his interest.

“Chief Michael Diden, Ejele, a former Council Chairman, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly and grassroots mobilizer, of course, has a lot of followers who are happy to have him as their Senatorial candidate.

“Our House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko and the House of Assembly candidate, Barr. Bernard Odior are on ground as people who are not strangers, so, we are going to get it right with our voters’ cards in 2023.

“Democracy is about voting for the people you trust and we are confident with all the candidates of the PDP, so, we will look for the umbrella logo and thumbprint.

“We thank the leadership of our party for throwing up that challenge, we thank them for believing that Isoko North is PDP, PDP is Isoko North.”
