Delta Deputy Governor, Onyeme Loses Foster Father

The death has been announced of Mr Danladi Ambi, foster father of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA.

According to a statement signed by Mr Barnabas Ambi, the eldest son of the deceased, his father died on Thursday, September 4th, 2025 at the age of 82 years.

He disclosed that the remains of his father would be interred on Friday, September 26th at his home town, Jagindi Tasha, Jemea Local Government of Kaduna State.

Late Mr Danladi Ambi was married to the younger sister of the mother of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme. Sir Onyeme who spent the early years of his life with the deceased and his family said, “by all ramifications, he was a good father, a disciplinarian.

“I started living with them in 1974 because he was married to my aunty and as a soldier, we spent some years in Sokoto; he was a very good man, kind and generous despite the fact that his military background made him to be naturally, a disciplinarian.

“We thank God for the life that he lived and we will surely miss him.”

On hearing about the death, Sir Onyeme, accompanied by some close friends, visited his aunty, Mrs Rosaline Ambi and her children to commiserate with them over the death of their father at their residence at Koroduma, Nassarawa State.

Since his return from the condolence visit, the Deputy Governor’s residence in Asaba have been a beehive of activities as friends, political associates pay condolence visits.
