CHIEF of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Chief Primus Odili, has denied reports of  Coronavirus scare in Government House, stressing that neither Obiano, his wife and other government officials are infected.

A statement by Chief Primus  Odili,  through his media aide, Mr. Chike Okoli said,  the recent viral post that there was  a Coronavirus scare in Government House, was not only infantile but the height of mischief, obviously driven by envy and jealousy.

He said the governor, the wife  and others are not in anyway infested with the deadly virus as they are observing the world Health recommended wearing of face mask, sanitizing and social distancing.

Reports in the media had suggested that wife of the Chief of Staff to Governor, who recently returned from America  during the Christmas holiday, was infected and passed the virus to other government officials.

“For the records, there is no such scare in Government House; least of all, its being triggered by the wife of the  Chief of Staff (COS).The Governor is 100 percent fine and going about his administrative duties diligently while observing the world recommended wearing of face mask, sanitizing and social distancing.

“The post is therefore part of the evil machinations of those, who, for reasons best known to them, are envious and jealous of the young man, Chief Primus, his track records and his wife, whose only offense is that she visits her husband from time to time from America.

“Chief Primus and wife are hale and hearty. The wife is safely back to the United States and doing her work, while the Governor is safely doing his work here. Chief Primus is a self made man who had had a very successful stint abroad long before accepting to come and serve his people here.

“He has been successfully and meritoriously doing his job to the satisfaction of his principal, the Governor. It has always been the case and will remain the case.

“Chief Primus is a jolly good fellow who focuses on his job and doesn’t look for anyone’s trouble. It is therefore strange that he has  become the target of those looking for cheap publicity and who are envious of his achievements.

”The field is open and wide enough for anyone to play his game without overlapping into another’s part of the pitch. The recent viral post, though infantile, is nevertheless in bad faith; thus this response.

“The people are wiser and know when something is done to spite others. This latest kite, as others before it, will simply not fly. Rather than spite those who worked hard and legitimately to attain their current positions, those behind such attacks should equally work hard to succeed in life,” the statement added.
