The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Friday, attended the Funeral Mass of renowned politician, Ogbueshi Henry Onyia, who was popularly known as Ndozi Onyia.
The Funeral Mass took place at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Asaba.
Governor Oborevwori was represented at the occasion by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA.
Ogbueshi Ejiofor Onyia, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, Sir Christopher Osakwe, Sen. John Azuka-Mbata (President Generals, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide), Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya, Hon. Smart Meka, Hon. Tony Onyia, among other personalities attended the Funeral Mass.
In a Homily, Very Rev. Fr. Ogbueshi Hilary Nwadei, observed that though, death is a bad thing, it is an inevitable end for all men.
He noted that while security could be provided for several things, such could not be provided over death.
“Have we known God? Have we loved Him by loving our neighbours as ourselves? Have we served God?
“If you have positive response to the questions, you can make heaven.
“Permit me to talk about Ogbueshi Ndozi Onyia, he was an exceptional human being, a very generous and likeable person, may his soul through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen,” the Priest said.
