The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that Chairmen of local government councils who were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are executing people-oriented projects.

Governor Oborevwori made the disclosure on Thursday, during the commissioning of projects executed by the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Council, Delta State, Hon. Innocent Esewezie.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, the governor observed that chairmen of different Local Government Councils in the state, in particular, have rolled out projects for commissioning, which clearly showed that the chairmen are aware of their responsibilities and are delivering on their mandate.

The governor said, “it is heartwarming to know that chairmen of different local government councils in our state have rolled out projects for commissioning which is a good development as it clearly shows that the Chairmen are aware of their responsibilities and are delivering on their mandates of making life easy for our people.”

The Governor said that the activities of his administration were hinged on the M.O.R.E. Agenda, stating, “what we are witnessing in Oshimili North under the leadership of Hon. Esewezie is meaningful development, execution of projects that impacts positively on the lives of our people and we are proud of him.

“I am aware that within the last few years, the administration of Hon. Esewezie has rebuilt and equipped the only primary school owned by the local government and that project has been inaugurated, the administration has also, built markets, town halls, office complex, among others and today, we have commissioned 30 units open market stalls cum fencing of Ebu Market.

“We also, commissioned the Akwukwu-Igbo modern town hall and inspected the Ugbolu market which is undergoing construction.

“It is important that you ensure that the projects that government executes in your area are well maintained, take them like your personal property, protect them from vandals and do not allow them to waste, put them into meaningful use.

“I implore all Deltans to be peaceful, encourage development activities, engage in actions that will always project our state, Delta in good light and I most sincerely, thank you for supporting the MORE Agenda of my administration.”

Chairman, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, had in an address, said that the projects were executed to rewrite the infrastructural needs of the people after a careful survey.

The ceremony was attended by the member representing Oshimili North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Frank Esenwa, Traditional Rulers, Chairman, PDP, Delta North, Elder Moses Iduh, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Sir Christopher Osakwe, immediate Chief Press Secretary to Delta State Government, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, among others.
