Onyeme Urges Nigerians To Sustain, Promote Their Culture

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has urged Nigerians to sustain their rich cultural heritage.

He made the call on Saturday during the celebration of Ulor Festival by the people Olodu in Aniocha South local government area of Delta State.

The Deputy Governor commended the people of the area for their peaceful disposition which made it possible for their festival to be colourful.

“I am happy with what I have seen today, we should continue to sustain our festivals as Nigerians and as Africans.

“We are all happy to witness this festival and you should continue to be happy with one another and we should continue to remain peaceful because with peace, we can enjoy this type of festival, with peace, we can attract people from different areas to attend our festivals and some of them will live among us.

“By the special grace of God, with sustained peace, this whole area will be developed.

“I want to once again encourage you to be peaceful all the time and go about your daily businesses peacefully because that is what will bring development to the area,” Onyeme said.

Earlier the Obi of Olodu, Obi Ifechukwude Adigwe, who received the Deputy Governor and his entourage, alongside His Royal Majesty, Augustine Ezeaguna Okolie 111, the Obi of Egbudu-Aka, thanked the Deputy Governor for his physical presence to witness the festival.

He assured the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, of the support of people, stating that Olodu is Peace and accommodating to visitors.

Some of those who accompanied the Deputy Governor on the visit include the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Christopher Osakwe.
