The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA on Saturday, observed that greed was the driving force behind the few individuals who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for other political parties.

Addressing the people of Utagba-Ogbe (Ward 1), Etua-Etiti (Ward 2) and Ndemili (Ward 3) during the PDP thank you tour of communities, the deputy governor urged the people to remain steadfast with the PDP.

He said, “we have heard about some few individuals leaving our political party, the umbrella political party, we have found out that their action was driven by greed.

“They have held several positions through the platform of the PDP from 1999 till few months ago and their impact is not very obvious in their communities because they think only about themselves.

“Probably, just few months without them holding political office on the platform of the PDP, they said that they were decamping.

“Politics is collective, an individual cannot make a political party, so, if you have been enjoying the pecks of office for more than twenty years, it is just right that you support others just the way they supported you.

“The Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is running an inclusive government, so, the fact that you have not been given an appointment does not mean that you will not be patronised, and again, we all appreciate the fact that in less than two years, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s has done very well.

“This visit is to thank you for believing in the PDP, the only political party that has been stable since 1999.”

Deputy Chairman, PDP im the state, Elder Moses Iduh received some persons who returned to the PDP from other political parties.

Some of those who spoke at the communities include Engr. Dan Ossai, Hon. Sam Osasa, Chief Festus Ochonogor, Chief Obi Nzete, Chief Anslem Nzete, among others, emphasized that there was no better alternative to the PDP.

In a related development, Pastor Chuks Agidigbo, has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for embarking on thank you visits to communities in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Pastor Agidigbo who was seen at all the communities visited, said that appreciating those who believe in you is the right thing to do.

He spoke on Saturday at Ndemili, the last community which was visited by the team led by Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme.

“Democracy is about the people, so, I thank the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, for leading the PDP on a thank you visit.

“Elections are still far, so, this is not campaign of any kind but pure show of love to those who came out and sent you out to represent them with their voter’s cards.

“From what I have observed during these visits, it has provided for the deputy governor to tell the people what government is doing and also feel the pulse of the people, know how they feel about government,” Agidigbo said.

Asked why he had to leave his business to join the thank you tour, Agidigbo said, “as an individual, I support what is right and I have always identified with the PDP.”
