PROJECTS: Ndokwa Political Office Holders Applaud Okowa

POLITICAL office holders from Ndokwa ethnic nationality have commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for the development projects his administration embarked on, in the area.

Speaking during an inspection tour of some projects in the area on Monday, the political office holders stated that it was gratifying that the projects were not white elephant projects.

Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher who led the team, inspected the Kwale-Beneku bridge, the Eke Modern Market, Umusam road projects, among others.

At the bridge, the Commissioner for Works, Chief James Auguye stated that work has reached an advanced stage on the bridge and that it would be delivered in 2021.

“This is one of the longest bridges constructed by this administration, it involves two bridges, a smaller one of about 20 meters span and another that is about 300 meters.

“There are provisions for walkways on the bridges,” Auguye said, disclosing that the projects were awarded in 2018.

At the Eke Modern Market, the Commissioner for Trade and Investments, Hon. Chika Ossai, said, the market was ready for inauguration by Governor Okowa.

He disclosed that the project was started by the Ndokwa West Local Government Council and was abandoned before it was taken over by Governor Okowa’s administration.

Those who spoke to journalists after the inspection tour include Rt. Hon. Ochor, the Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije, among others.

They stated that Governor Okowa did not only ensure that Ndokwa sons and daughters hold key positions in government, he has also executed landmark projects in the area.

Hon. Ochor said, the inspection of projects in the area which would be carried out regularly, was done under the auspices of “Ndokwa Sons And Daughters Holding Elective And Appointive Positions In Government. ”

The member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu, Commissioner for Housing in the state, Chief Festus Ochonogor, the Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Chief Monday Onyeme, Chairman, Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Osakwe, Commissioners representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, among others, were on the inspection visit.
