Technical Education Panacea For Technological Advancement – DTSG

THE Delta State Government has reiterated it’s commitment in advancing science and technology development in the country.

The State Governor, Senator,Dr Ifeanyi Okowa made this known during the Gala/Dinner Nite organised for Course 29 participants of the National Defence College, Abuja, who were on a study tour of the State.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie said his administration had taken deliberate steps in repositioning technical education in the State by renovating and equipping the existing six technical colleges and also establishing 19 new technical colleges across the State.

He said these proactive steps taken by his administration was to ensure that in the next few years, the State would have become one of the most technologically advanced State in the country.

Senator Okowa noted that the world was at the brink of a technological revolution and the State could not afford to be left out.

He commended the Course 29 participants of the National Defence College for choosing Delta State for their study tour and assured the College that his administration would continue to partner with them towards national development.

The team Leader Course 29 participants of the National Defence College, Air Commodore Kehinde Adebayo commended the State government for its laudable archivements in every sector of the State.

He noted that the State was the first to establish three Ministries for Education in the country, with one for Technical edutcation, Higher Education and Basic and Secondary Education, which he said had put the State ahead of other States in the country technologically.

Air Commodore Adebayo said the study tour across the State had exposed them to the developmental strides of the Governor.

He thanked the Governor and the people of the State for the warm reception accorded them during their visit to the State.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of gift to the govternor by the Team Leader and presentation of gifts to the Course 29 participants by the State Government.
