The President-General of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom, Chief Ifeanyi Edeme, has said that Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom is fully in support of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA.

Chief Edeme made this known on Sunday in a statement that he personally signed and made available to newsmen.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, elders of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom, including Okwas, titled Chiefs and youth leaders paid a “thank you” visit to the Deputy Governor at Asaba.

It’s very unfortunate to see how some people have turned a peaceful and progressive move into an opportunity for insults and name-calling.

Respected leaders, youth representatives, and Chiefs from Utagba Ogbe Kingdom recently paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Deputy Governor of Delta State – a visit centered on unity, peace, and development.

This visit was not for personal benefit, but for the good of our people and our land. Yet, instead of encouragement, some individuals have chosen to attack and insult the well-meaning and Distinguished Personalities. That is not only disrespectful – it is shameful.

Let me say this loud and clear, every one of the leaders who took part in that visit is doing well and has the interest of Utagba Ogbe at heart. And are people of value who have served and are still serving this kingdom with dedication.

If we truly want progress, then we must learn to support peace-building efforts like this one.

The Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, is our own, and this kind of engagement is what brings results.

Utagba Ogbe will not move forward with hatred and division. It will move forward with unity, respect, and cooperation.

You may not agree with everything, but please disagree with maturity. Criticism is not a license for insults.

Let us appreciate our leaders. Let us stand by those who are working for us. And above all, let us put Utagba Ogbe first.

Peace over insults, unity over division, progress over politics.

Utagba Ogbe must rise!

Chief (Engr.) Godwin Ifeanyi Edeme,
President-General
Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom.
