We Are Happy With The Number Of Investors Coming Into Our State – Onyeme

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that Deltans are happy with the rate that investors are entering the state.

Speaking in Asaba on Tuesday evening when he received on courtesy call Mr Mukesh Sharma, Director, Vulcan, a steel mining and infrastructure company, Sir Onyeme, expressed confidence that the benefits of having the investors doing their business in the state will be enormous.

He assured Vulcan and other investors that are coming into Delta that the state is conducive for them to carry out their businesses.

“From what Mr Sharma has said about what his company will do in our state, we can’t wait for them to start their business because the benefits of having the companies doing their businesses in our state is enormous.

“The government of Delta State is interested and wants you to start operation as soon as possible.

“As an individual, I want action, there is no need for delay.

“I am confident that before the end of first tenure of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, our people will see in practical terms, the delivery of democratic dividends,” Onyeme said.

Mr Sharma had told the Deputy Governor that his company, Vulcan was coming to the state to set up a three million tons integrated steel plant.

He said, “the plant will focus on producing Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) and other value added downstream steel products.

“This plant will not only do import substitution and take care of requirement of steel products of Nigeria but will also, supply steel coils to other neighbouring countries generating valuable foreign exchange for Nigeria.”

Commissioner for Trade and Investments in the state, Hon. Samuel Oligida, had told the Deputy Governor that Mr Sharma expressed joy when he was shown a site and disclosed that his company would build its own seaport and create more than 3000 job opportunities.
