Senior Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Leo Nkeaka, has applauded Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s strategic approach to federal relations following the governor’s courtesy visit to Federal Capital Territory Minister, His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, August 22.

Governor Oborevwori, accompanied by his Ebonyi State counterpart, Governor Francis Nwifuru, expressed appreciation towards Minister Wike for the cordial reception extended during their visit at his Abuja residence.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Leo Nkeaka described the visit as exemplary political strategy, emphasizing the advantages of Governor Oborevwori’s mainstream political approach. The visit represents a continuation of the governor’s calculated political realignment that has positioned Delta State favorably within the current federal administration’s framework.

_”Governor Sheriff Oborevwori playing the politics of the mainstream was the best decision taken for all Deltans. It shows he is a great political leader and icon in this game called politics. He stands to benefit a lot for Deltans; the privilege to negotiate with the government at the centre over the interest of Delta State, developmental issues, elections and other benefits._

_”Not many people understood the strategic foresight behind Governor Oborevwori’s recent political defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, along with previous Delta State PDP executives and structures to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, and other political gladiators who work with the mainstream in securing more dividends of democracy for all Deltans._

_”This political masterstroke has proven instrumental in fostering the current cordial relationships that are yielding tangible benefits for the state,”_ Nkeaka affirmed.

The Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters stressed the strategic importance of maintaining cordial and progressive relationships with key federal government officials, particularly in securing developmental projects and federal interventions for state-specific issues. Governor Oborevwori’s synergy with mainstream forces at the central government level has significantly enhanced the state’s capacity to secure more development opportunities for all Deltans.

The governor’s recent cordial relationship with President Tinubu, whom he has publicly commended for working and delivering on his Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians, demonstrates his commitment to collaborative governance.

By joining forces with the President in ensuring the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda while simultaneously delivering his “More Agenda” for all Deltans in Delta State, Oborevwori has practically created a win-win scenario that benefits both federal and state interests.

This strategic positioning has already begun yielding concrete results. Recently, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori urged the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to collaborate with state governments to ensure that the region benefits from quality projects in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

During a courtesy visit from the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Momoh and his delegation at Government House, Asaba, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the necessity of such collaboration to improve the living conditions of the people of the region.

He highlighted the strategic importance of the Niger Delta region, stating, _”This region produces the highest wealth that we use in running this country so attention ought to be paid to the region.”_

The governor’s proactive approach to federal engagement was further demonstrated when he received the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, who assessed the state of federal roads in Delta State, including the critical Warri-Benin Road and the East-West Road. Governor Oborevwori’s administration has shown unprecedented commitment to development, approving N78 billion for flyovers and road projects in Warri and Effurun, engaging Julius Berger for quality execution.

_”When I came in, I said I need quality jobs and we have inaugurated some projects and we are consolidating on the old projects and finish them while also embarking on new ones. We have also approved the payment of over N5.5 billion in promotion arrears for civil servants,”_ the governor stated.

The fruits of this strategic political alignment were further evident when Governor Oborevwori recently received the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu (CON), at the Government House, Asaba. The First Lady’s visit was for the flag-off ceremony of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Empowerment Programme for petty traders in Delta State.

Governor Oborevwori acknowledged the First Lady’s significant contributions and empowerment initiatives nationwide and expressed appreciation for choosing Delta State as the official launch site for the Petty Traders Empowerment Programme, which is being rolled out simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation.

These visits have positioned Governor Oborevwori favorably within the broader political landscape, with regards to the plethora of potential benefits for Delta State’s access to federal resources and support for various developmental initiatives.

God bless our *UKODOLISTIC GOVERNOR* of Delta State.
