MaMARVIS Oyedum, the CEO of Marvis Unique Catering Services, Effurun, enrolled in the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2015/2016 cycle as a non-indigene beneficiary. Since establishment, Marvis has carved a niche for herself as an entrepreneur and as a job creation trainer.

She voluntarily trained 26 unemployed youths in Catering and Confectionery free of charge for one month by way of giving back to society. She shares her testimony.

“I am a caterer and a baker, but my special product is Marvis Unique Peanut Burger. My production capacity on peanut burger has grown from 60 bottles in 2017 to 1200 bottles. With STEP, I am a supportive wife and mother.

“STEP exposed me to different market opportunities. I have trademarked my product. I am on the way to getting its barcode and NAFDAC number to enable me supply to bigger business outlets like ShopRite.

“Recently, precisely in March this year, I was one of the STEP/YAGEP awardees who received 500,000 cash grant from the State Government to boost my business.

“Governor Okowa taught me not only how to fish, but provided me with fishing materials. What an easy life he made for Delta Youths.”
