DEPUTY Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, on Saturday, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Major Babs Agali (rtd) at his residence in Ogume, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state.
Accompanied by the Secretary of the party in the state, Engr. Dan Ossai, Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Hon. Michael Anoka, among other stalwarts of the PDP, Sir Onyeme was received by the elder brother of the deceased, Chief Paul Agali.
The Deputy Governor said the passage of Major Agali was a great loss to his family, the PDP, and the state.
“Major was a very sincere person, a loyal party man who never wavered in his belief.
“He was the most reliable human being whom I have come across in my life, his death came as a big surprise to us.
“We are here to let you know that we have heard about his passage, update us about the plan for his rites of passage, and be rest assured of our support.
“Please, take solace in the fact that he lived a good life and may God grant you all the fortitude to bear the loss, amen,” Sir Onyeme said.
The Deputy Governor also signed the condolence register where he wrote, “Our father, our leader, an upright gentleman, a loyal and faithful party man, may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace, amen.”
Responding on behalf of the family, Chief Rupert Ossai thanked the Deputy Governor and his entourage for identifying with the Agali family during their trying time and assured him that he would be briefed about the burial plan when the family takes decision on that.
Major Babs Agali until his death on Sunday, January 28, 2024 was a community leader and chieftain of the PDP. HE Passed on after a brief illness at the age of 70.
In a related development, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, attended the burial ceremony of Mr Godwin Odiwe, elder brother of Mr Elvis Odiwe at Amorji, Onicha-Ukwuani in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Mr Elvis Odiwe is one of the drivers in the convoy of the Deputy Governor.
