Nwoko Scores Okowa High On Health Care Delivery

THE Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr. Michael Nwoko has said Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State has brought about improved health-care delivery to residents of the State.

Dr. Nwoko made this known while addressing newsmen during the 2021 monitoring rounds at the Asaba Specialist Hospital, Asaba.

“Due to the direct oversight carried out by Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta in the health sector through the Delta State Health Monitoring Office, the dynamics of health care delivery system in the state has changed tremendously with improved health care to all residents of the State.

“The Delta State Health Insurance Scheme which has captured about 900,000 enrollees, the revamping of the Primary Health system in the State and provision of needed facilities and manpower in the secondary health care facilities and tertiary health care facility in the state has lend credence to improved health care delivery services in the State.

“It is imperative for health workers in the state to brace up to the new order to guarantee effective health care delivery to all residents of the state in line with the Stronger Delta Agenda of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State.”

The Chief Medical Director of Asaba Specialist Hospital, Dr. Peace Ighosewe, thanked the Delta State Ministry of Health for being so helpful and also appreciated the Governor Okowa for being so committed to providing them the needed facilities and manpower to do their job effectively.

The CMD commended members of the Health Monitoring Team for their proactiveness in monitoring health care facilities in the state adding that it has helped to ensure that everyone is up and doing.

The Health Monitoring Team led by Dr. Michael Nwoko comprises of Dr. Patrick Onwuachi, Dr. Kingsley Amaihunwa, Dr. Sam Efetobor and Dr. Daniel Omodon.

For strategic reasons, the Team is divided into Team A which monitors health care facilities in Delta North Senatorial District and Team B which monitors health care facilities in Delta Central Senatorial district while both teams carries out joint monitoring in Delta South Senatorial district.

Team A has visited Asaba Specialist Hospital, General Hospital, Okwe, Secretariate Clinic, Asaba, Primary Health Care Centre, Umuagu,, Primary Health Care Centre, Okwe and Cable Primary Health Care centre while team B visited the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, General Hospital, Oghara, Cottage Hospital,,Mosogar, Primary Health Care Centre, Mosogar, Primary Health Care Centre,, Ogharefe and Primary Health Care Centre, Oghareki.
