A Catholic Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Leonard Biachi has called for attitudinal change among Nigerians, saying the people should shun the crave for materialsm.

Fr. Biachi spoke on Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Asaba, Delta State, while delivering a homily at the funeral Mass of Sir Nicholas Chizea, the Oshimili of Ahaba.

According to the Priest, people should think more about how to make the society better than the crave for accumulation of wealth.

“There will be joy in the world if we stop doing bad things because of money, we should stop seeking for political positions if all that we are interested in is to acquire personal wealth,’ the Priest said.

He described Sir Chizea as a man who lived a charitable life, humble and providing listening ears to the people.

“Each time we gather like this to bury our own, it is also time for us to reflect on our own death; what are we going to be remembered for? How are we relating with others? Are we working to live in eternity with our saviour or to posses material things; things that are perishable?” he asked.

Younger sister to the deceased, Mrs Pat Uraih, in an emotion-laden tribute, said, “I will forever miss my flamboyant showman brother; a man of the people; a man with a good and a beautiful heart.

“You touched many souls evidenced by the many good testimonies we have received from those that encountered you in your life’s journey.”

The remains of the deceased was interred in his country at GRA, Asaba.
