The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has called on Nigerians to support the work of God.
Sir Onyeme made the call on Saturday at the Priestly Ordination Thanksgiving of Rev. Fr. Charles Azubuike Azaka.
According to the Deputy Governor, Priests deserve to be supported to enable them to carry on with the work of God effectively.
He stated that with his contribution, and that of his friends and political associates, a car would be given to the newly ordained Catholic Priest.
The event took place at Akoku-Uno in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
”Rev. Fr. Azubuike Azaka is my brother, and it is good to support the work of God.
“It is not an easy job to be dedicated to winning souls for our Lord, Jesus Christ; as such, we should encourage Priests and men of God to enable them to carry on with their work without distraction.
“I congratulate Rev. Fr. Azubuike and I thank all of you who are here to witness the celebration of his first Mass.
“To enable him move freely, my friends and I, including political associates, will buy a car for him,” the Deputy Governor said.
Earlier, in a Homily, Rev. Fr. Orjinta O. Orjinta said that it is important for people to thank God for His blessings.
He called for prayers for the new Priest, expressing confidence that Rev. Fr. Azaka will succeed as a priest because God’s grace is upon him.
The Priests at the occasion, prayed for the state, the Deputy Governor, and members of his team.
