Tatabuzogwu Presents N3.3b Budget Estimate For 2022 Fiscal Year

CHAIRMAN, Ika South Local Government Council, Delta State,  Hon. Sunday Tatabuzogwu, has presented an estimate of Three Billion, Three Hundred And Forty- Five Million, Three Hundred And Fifty Thousand Naira (#3,345,350,000.00) as budget proposal for the year 2022 to the Legislative Arm of the Council, for necessary consideration and approval.

Hon. Tatabuzogwu, made the presentation to the Ika South Legislative Arm, recently.

Christened “Achievable Budget,” Tatabuzogwu, thanked members of the Council’s Legislative Arm for their understanding and cooperation since the inception of his administration.

He said, ” We are very much aware of our revenue streams and have chosen this policy direction with the optimism that the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government shall work in mutuality in achieving whatever agenda we may set for this Administration”

According to him, this year’s Draft Estimate has a total Capital Expenditure Estimate of the sum of Seven Hundred and Sixty-One Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira (#761,600,000.00), while the Recurrent Expenditure Estimate Proposal is the sum of Two Billion, Five Hundred and Eighty- Three Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (#2,583,750,000.00).

The Council boss stressed that the huge allocation to the Recurrent Expenditure was as a result of the financial obligation Recurrent Cost of the Public Primary Schools within the Local Government Area as well as statutory funding for the Traditional Rulers Committee in the Local Government.

Breakdown of sectorial capital expenditures for 2022 fiscal year  revealed the following, Purchase of Fixed Asset General – #95,800,009.00, Construction/Provision of Fixed Asset – #292,000,000.00, Rehabilitation/ Repairs of Fixed Asset -#219,800,000.00, Preservation of Environment General – #68,000,000.00 and Acquisition of Non Tangible Asset – #86,000,000.00 bringing the total to #761,600,000.00.

Hon. Tatabuzogwu noted that the Council can achieve the lofty height by improving on the internally generated revenue collection.

Tatabuzogwu, gave a highlight of some of the capital expenditure his administration have target in this fiscal year as follows, Relocation of cattle market to Uromi Road, after Agbor Technical College, Wooden Bridge across Orogodo River to link Okoh Street and provide pedestrian’s access to Edike market, Purchase of Official Vehicles, Provision of Office Furniture and Equipment and Grading of Earth Roads.

He solicited for the cooperation of the Honourable house towards the passage of the  Budget estimate to enable his government hit the ground running as they strive to keep faith with their their campaign promises to the good people of Ika South Local Government.

Receiving the budget on behalf of the Legislative House, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Solomon Igudia, assured the Council boss that the House would give a speedy and thorough consideration on the budget to meet the needs of the people.

The Budget presentation was witnessed by the Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Patience Agboma, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Kanji Obia Aluge, Supervisors, the Head of Personnel Management, Mrs Mmakwe Patricia, Treasurer to the local government, Mr Fidelis Ogbolu, and other heads of department.
