The Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, DSCTDA, Chief Patrick Ukah in collaboration with the Executive Committee of Ibori Golf and Country Club, Monday, led a delegation to condole with the Palace over the demise of the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Chike Edozien
Speaking during the visit, Chief Ukah conveyed his sympathies to the family of the late Asagba and the people of Asaba on the death of the revered monarch.
He eulogized the late Asagba, describing his death as not only a loss to the people of Asaba and Delta State, but also to the Ibori Golf Club family and the country at large.
The DG recalled that during his assumption of office as the Director General, he visited the Asagba of Asaba to intimate him about the activities and programmes of the agency, adding that he was also involved in the launching of the planting of two thousand trees as part of activities to mark Asagba’s centenary birthday celebration which, however, coincided with the Secure, Clean and Green Capital Territory Campaign of the agency.
Ukah, who is also the Captain of Ibori Golf and Country club said the late monarch was an epitome of peace and forthright royal father who dedicated his life time towards championing the course of humanity and development in the state.
He stated that the revered monarch, who until his death at 99 years, was the patron of Ibori Golf and Country Club, and had developed a lot of interest in Golf.
The DG, while addressing the wife, family members of the late monarch and palace chiefs, in company of the staff and management of DSCTDA and the Executive Committee of Ibori Golf and Country Club, he prayed to God to grant the late monarch eternal rest and urged them to bear the loss, confident in the fact that Obi Chike Edozien has laid sound foundation for peaceful co- exist in the state.
