“What what we are doing today, is to specifically enlighten the people to make us have attitudinal change so that we can build our country to be what we desire it to be.

“Some of us want to be in United Kingdom, Canada, America and other advanced countries; these people built their own countries, let us also build ours,” the Governor said.

He thanked the ICPC for carrying out enlightenment campaigns against corruption and assured them of his administration’s support to enable them succeed in their activities.

Mr. Ufot had told the Governor and members of the state Executive Council who attended the courtesy call that the Commission had the mandate of investigation and prosecution, prevention, public enlightenment and awareness.
‎
‎He disclosed that the ICPC had carried out public enlightenment and awareness campaigns to some federal and state agencies, including secondary schools, where sixty anti-corruption clubs have been established, adding that some public officers in the state have been investigated and found wanting.
‎
He said that the visit was to establish a formal relationship with the state government.
