Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., has described Chief James Onanefe Ibori as the principal architect of the state’s advancement, as he joined other well-wishers to celebrate the elder statesman’s birthday.
In a congratulatory statement released on Sunday, Otuaro said that Ibori’s tenure as Governor of Delta State marked a turning point in the political and infrastructural development of the oil-rich state, adding that the foundations laid during his time in office remain relevant today.
“The pillars of today’s Delta were built under your watch,” Otuaro stated. “You governed with foresight and courage, initiating projects and policies that have become the cornerstone of the state’s transformation.”
He noted that the former governor’s far-reaching influence transcends time, adding that his legacy continues to inspire both old and new generations of political leaders across Delta State.
Otuaro, who served as Deputy Governor between 2015 and 2023, expressed deep personal appreciation for Ibori’s support and mentorship over the years. He credited the former governor for offering opportunities to many young politicians who have since risen to prominence in both state and national politics.
“Your guidance and encouragement were instrumental to my own journey in leadership. You have been a constant source of wisdom and a father figure to many of us,” he said.
Offering prayers on behalf of his family and political allies, Otuaro wished Chief Ibori a joyous birthday celebration and prayed for God’s continued blessings, health, and fulfillment upon him in the years ahead.
