DELTA State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Saturday, congratulated Lady Theodora Anwuli Giwa-Amu on her 75th birthday anniversary.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Tourism in the state, Engr. Lawrence Ejiofor at a Thanksgiving Mass held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, West End, Asaba to mark the birthday anniversary, the governor described Lady Giwa-Amu as someone who has contributed greatly to the development of the society.
Lady Giwa-Amu who is the <span;>Omeifoma of Asaba was Chairman, Oshimili Local Government Council, she was a member of the Delta State Executive Council and has been very active in politics since 1978 when she voluntarily retired from the civil service to join the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN).
Governor Okowa prayed that God will continue to sustain the celebrant for her to celebrate more birthdays.
Earlier in a Homily, <span;>Rev. Fr. Gerald Ononiwu, urged Christians to always strive to make heaven.
He said, “The most important thing in life is to make the kingdom of God.
“What is your contribution to the society? What is your contribution to those around you?
“Tell your children to live good life to enable them make heaven.”
The Priest listed some of the sterling qualities of Lady Giwa-Amu and prayed that God will strengthen her to celebrate more years on earth.
“Put on the zeal and the mark of Christ, tell the people around you that Jesus is alive; today is 75th, we shall all gather again when you are 80,” the Priest.
Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue was among those who attended the event.
