Christians have been urged to surrender their personal ambitions and align their daily actions with the divine will of God, rather than relying on shortcuts or human understanding.
The call was made by a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia on Sunday morning during a Holy Mass celebrated at the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Fr. Mozia emphasized that God’s thoughts and ways are entirely different from human reasoning, warning believers against the temptation of attempting to force or hasten God’s promises through unrighteous means.
”Our ways are not God’s ways, God cannot think the way we think or act the way we act; all that we need to do is to align ourselves with His will.
“In the beginning, it may not be rosy, but remember that in all situations, we must give Him thanks; once you align your will with God, leave the rest to Him,” Fr. Mozia said.
Reflecting on the biblical example of Joseph, the cleric noted that despite numerous temptations and opportunities to compromise his integrity, Joseph stood his ground and remained faithful to God.
Fr. Mozia cautioned that many people destroy their God-given destiny through impatience and engaging in unethical practices.
”Many a times, we spoil God’s blessing in us with our own hands; a prophecy or destiny of greatness may be there, but you strike it down by putting your hands into things you should not do just because you want to hasten it.
“The devil’s gifts do not bring peace or save the soul at the end; wait upon the Lord, trust in His timing, and trust in His providence,” the Priest emphasized.
Using the life of Job as an example of patient endurance, Fr. Mozia stated that God allows life’s trials not to destroy His children, but to manifest His ultimate glory.
He reassured the congregation that God’s grace and blessings are open to everyone, warning against envy and spiritual rivalry.
”The grace of God is available to all; don’t be jealous of anybody; be happy with those whom God is blessing, and your own blessing will come.
“When God’s blessing finally arrives, He gives you joy that restores all the years of waiting.
”Many sorrows and mysteries we face today stem from running our own plans instead of aligning with God’s will through the Word of God and the teachings of the Church.
“It is not too late to retrace your steps; whether in your marriage, business, or workplace, ask yourself if you are acting as God expects.
“Put God’s will first, and His blessings and grace will surely flow into your life,” Fr. Mozia added.
The Holy Mass featured special thanksgiving by the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Chief Vincent Ibeh and his family, among others.
